Bellagio/PopTech Fellows 2013
PopTech and the Rockefeller Foundation are pleased to announce the inaugural class of Bellagio/PopTech Fellows, made up of key innovators in the fields of data and computer science, the arts, and the humanitarian and ecological spheres. The Fellows will explore how big data can enhance community resilience, and begin the path to practical answers, with a goal of bringing new ideas and opportunities to bear on the practical intersection of these two major themes.
The 2013 Bellagio/PopTech Fellows collaborated on a fresh approach that emphasizes ethics as a central — and often overlooked — factor in building community resilience. They created “Big Data, Communities and Ethical Resilience: A Framework for Action,” which outlines the interplay of six key domains, including ethics, governance, science, technology, place and sociocultural context.
