A touch screen in which the user experiences a more physcial sensation is in the works. Using high frequency vibrations, the screen produces a tactile experience that may significantly change the way we use these types of interfaces.

We're not just about giving signals. We're about giving physical sensations like the experience you have when you interact with the real world.

Ed Colgate, a mechanical engineer at Northwestern University whose team developed the touch screen.
