ExpoTENtial Labs take to New York City streets

Design strategist Laetitia Wolff started ExpoTENtial as a platform to encourage collaboration between designers, writers, artists, and curators and as she explained, “experiment with different urban interfaces.”  Focusing on ten projects that tackle complex and pressing issues in the urban environment, ExpoTENtial is working towards defining and revitalizing cities as well as providing interventions that engage the public – starting with New York City.

ExpoTENtial’s first Lab, Hug a Worm, took place last weekend as part of the Festival of Ideas for the New City. The Lab brought attention to the environmental contributions of the worm in converting waste into nutrient-rich soil.

This Saturday, May 14, ExpoTENtials’s next Lab, Urban Alchemy, will reexamine overlooked urban landscapes through art, technology, and social interaction.  This projection series will weave its way through NoHo alleyways in New York City.

And a video collage at the Center for Architecture will kick off the third Lab, Par Corp, on May 16, which will be on view through May 31.

Full descriptions of all Labs and details about this week’s upcoming events can be found on ExpoTENtial.  And if you’re excited about the project, consider supporting its Kickstarter campaign.
