From the mouth of Dan Sinker, the @MayorEmanuel story at PdF

Of the many captivating presentations at the Personal Democracy Forum yesterday, Dan Sinker’s talk about his @MayorEmanuel Twitter feed stands out for its eloquence, hilarity, and insight. Micah Sifry introduced the talk by suggesting that the Twitter travails of @MayorEmanuel harkened back to the art of serial storytelling, now reinvented for the digital age.

Dan Sinker begins his talk by explaining:

On February 8, 2011, my life went a little bit crazy. On that day, it was revealed that I spent the previous six months writing a lengthy, anonymous, incredibly profane, sweetly surreal, satirical real-time novel about an elseworld Rahm Emanuel and his struggle to save the multiverse from the cruel hands of space, time and self.

Sinker takes us through the evolution of @MayorEmanuel and, based on his experience with the project, what he sees as the implications for the dissemination of information in real-time on the web.
