The Periodic Table of Videos on cheeseburgers

For the past couple of years, The Periodic Table of Videos, created by scientists at the University of Nottingham, has offered a lively video for each element on the periodic table – 118 in total – on its YouTube channel. The pieces, which are hosted by various members of the University’s chemistry department, are candid, unscripted and accessible to the general public. The series has been so successful that it recently won the Science Prize for Online Resources (SPORE) by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

In this particularly amusing video, and their most popular to date, one scientist addresses the question, “What happens when a McDonald’s cheeseburger is dunked in hydrochloric acid?”
