Current Openings

Lead Designer

PopTech seeks a seasoned designer to help with all aspects of the organization’s design efforts, including: collateral, signage, web and electronic media. This part-time, on-site position will participate as an integral part of a small, tightly-knit group based in Brooklyn, New York. Expansion to a full-time role might be possible in the future.

We need you to:

  • act as lead designer for PopTech’s online and print assets.
  • lead design efforts for a website redesign with ongoing maintenance.
  • ensure that all design work at PopTech exhibits a consistent brand identity.
  • work with staff to manage all internal design requests.
  • ensure design projects are completed and approved of on time.
  • mentor junior design staff.

You should:

  • have around 4-5 years experience designing solutions for real-world challenges.
  • have a strong sense of both expressive and functional user-experience design.
  • be able to work with a wide variety of work styles.
  • be able to work collaboratively or independently as needed.
  • have a strong interest in design for social impact.
  • be able to articulate your vision and be flexible enough to accept criticism.
  • be able to point to past successes in online and offline design projects.
  • not worry about being able to code; this job doesn’t require it.
