Joni Seager is a scholar and activist in feminist geography, global environmental policy including climate change, gender equity measurement and gender audits of institutions towards gender mainstreaming. As a professor of Global Studies at Bentley University in Boston, MA, she is a highly accomplished researcher and writer with strong leadership and team building skills, with expertise in both gender and the environment as well as indicators and mapping. She has published well known and respected atlases entitled The State of Women in the World Atlas and The State of the Earth Atlas. In 2004, Seager and colleagues completed a study for the Division of Early Warning and Assessment on mainstreaming gender into its institutional and conceptual framework.
