Senior Advisor on Innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Alec Ross, says it’s time to reboot US diplomatic efforts abroad. Ross calls for 21st century statecraft based on the innovative use of new media. I enjoyed watching this video and so am doing a blog on it. This is a breakthrough itself! What a breath of fresh air in the halls of power! Keep on talking Alec. You are making so much sense. Think about the sustainability of these innovations in those countries. You mentioned something about taking existing situations and being innovative with them. I dare to suggest that you go beyond just giving (top down) but to ensure that innovations are compatible to the pace of development for impact of innovative products and ideas. Monitor small steps of progress and empower the local participants to take the lead in decision-making and management for their own future. They should be able/to be empowered to think of ways to disseminate the new knowledge or ways of doing things, to their children and peers . Give the man the tool and you feed him forever. Cheers,
