This isnt a statement but rather a question about the project and others that are similar in trying to improve the lives of those in developing countries through better innovation and design. I know that the work going on in changing lives there is obviously invaluable, but surely there is a danger of introducing the communities there to the western way of thinking in terms of producing things? We all know where that way of life has left us. I just hope those within the communities being helped dont get taken down the same route.

Thanx ever so much Heather for the innovation. Cell phone charging and lighting especially in rural places is one thing we have had our heads roll for long about.

We run a charitable organization that works among rural communities, known as Rural Agency for Community Development. On many occassions, our target group who live in very remote area have challenged us to find a way for them to do cellphone charging. To us now the question is just how can we access the Design for Good technology ?
