How wonderfully encouraging to hear of your work, Lauren. Your way of creating a way for the possibility of creative change in the hearts, minds and lives of people trapped in poverty and thwarted potential is so refreshing. It points in a new direction that I believe can save humanity from self destruction. It is compassion in action!

Restorative justice is a good movement, I’ve always been concerned about the way we criminalize and dehumanize individuals and forget that they are human too and need human bonds and affection in order to realize their best selves.

Thank you all. Your comments are inspiring to all of us at the Community Conferencing Center. Yes, indeed, Cam: Human connections and affections are necessary for ALL of us. Our survival may very well depend on them.

Hello, Patrease Hawkins
Name:
Patrease Hawkins
I love your work! My name is Patrease Hawkins. I’m a MSW student working on a independent study course on Community Building/Practice and Social Work. I was introduced to this topic from a book "Restorative Justice and Social Work" by Elizabeth Beck. I was able to talk with her via email and phone about ideas for the course i’m creating. Also, she told me to look into your website and work because she wrote a chapter with you in the book. I wanted to know if I could speak with you or schedule a visit to see what this is all about. I’m learning so much about this work and want to be involved.

So gratifying to see you are still doing your important work, Lauren. I want to bring this concept to Chattanooga and hope to find a way to get someone down here to show and tell how it can happen.
