i think two things happened in this country, maybe in the world, that have tipped the scales against touching… sexual harassment and child abuse… i agree that both these things are wrong… but, i think there is a large identifiable difference between these things and healthy touching… I’m a southern women – i’m a hugger – i think we need 10 hugs a day for maintenance… everything over that is gravy… i touch people… hugs, pats, caresses, neck rubs, and yes, a swat on the bottom if it’s needed… if it’s balanced with hugs…
