According to Steve Barr, the fastest way to fix education in America would be to make private schools illegal. As the founder of Green Dot Public Schools, Barr is devoted to improving public education in blighted cities. His efforts have transformed high schools across Los Angeles into charter schools that send nearly 80% of students to college.

Very interesting, compelling and thought provoking! Steve Barr does a superb job introducing his ideology
Please stay on subject … what on earth this guy talking about ? Politics, Education , "Black and Brown Kids" ? Private schools ? What is it ? Make private schools illegal ? Why ? This is a very bad political move and it’s stupid on the economics side of things. Ok , education needs to be fixed, globally , not just in the US but everywhere. That part of the message is clear and I believe everyone who went to school can acknowledge , but this man has neither the solution nor the coherence to talk about a solution.
Interesting talk, even if it wandered a bit. It’s mainly a pitch for Mr. Barr’s organization mixed with a call to action regarding public education. He does not actually seriously recommend making private schools illegal, he only mentions it to highlight the poor state of public schools.
