Yiqi Yang

A textile chemical engineer, Yiqi Yang is the Charles Bessey professor in the Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design and the Department of Biological Systems Engineering with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He is a member of the Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience and his research includes the development of new cellulose, protein and synthetic fibers from agricultural byproducts and the application of green materials in the textile, composite and medical industries. Yang has extensive experience in fiber and textile production and strong relationships with the fiber and textile industries internationally. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Donghua University in Shanghai, China and his Ph.D. from Purdue University.
