Chris Riley

Chris Riley is a geographer, strategic thinker, educator, and author. He has played a small part in creating some of the most successful brands in the world. He was head of strategy at advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy for eleven years and had a similar role in Apple’s Marcom group for the five years that saw Apple transform from Apple Computer to Apple Inc. Chris has taught in university settings and has led collaborative strategic conversations, seminars, and workshops all over the world for client organizations and educational institutions. He has learned that culture is strategy as organizations awaken to the need for deeper human engagement after the mass-age.

In 2017, Chris authored After the Mass-Age in collaboration with designer Fredrik Averin. The book marks the 50th anniversary of Marshall McLuhan’s era-defining The Medium Is the Message and aims to start fresh conversations after the mass-age.
